Pakistan desires to boost ties with Algeria in diverse fields: Imran

Mr. Muhammad Imran Khan Tessori, Businessman Panel Pakistan nominated Candidate for Vice President FPCCI called on the Ambassador of Algeria Dr, Brahim Romani on Friday here at the Embassy of Algeria, Islamabad, and discussed the existing bilateral Trade, economic Cooperation, investment, and cordial relations between Pakistan and the Republic of Algeria.

While exchanging views, Mr. Muhammad Imran Khan Tessori, highlighted that Pakistan desires to further collaborate with the Republic of Algeria based on a broad canvas in various fields such as economy, politics, and developing cultural and public connections.

He mentioned that Pakistan values its relations with Algeria and urged to expand the bilateral ties in the field of Information Technology. Tessori asked the Ambassador to urge Algerian investors to collaborate with Pakistan in different sectors to build joint ventures to shape up advanced economies in the 21st century.

It is important to address the existing bottlenecks to boost the economies of both countries.

Imran Tessori, Businessman Panel Pakistan nominated Candidate for Vice President FPCCI spoke of the trade and investment potential in various sectors in Pakistan. He also highlighted the Pakistan Government’s “ Look Africa” trade and investment policy, which would prove an important step for deeper engagement with African nations with a focus on boosting trade and investment ties with Algeria.

He further said that bilateral trade between Pakistan and Algeria was quite low, which should be increased to at least US$ 1 billion with strong efforts from both sides. He identified marble & granite, cotton, textiles, construction material, chemicals, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, aluminum, plastic goods, electric and electronic items, food products, and others as potential areas of trade cooperation between Pakistan and Algeria.

He said that Pakistan was producing many quality products and Algeria should focus on it for imports.
