Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) is making strides in upgrading and expanding the country’s aviation infrastructure. The reconstruction of the second runway at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) is underway, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and safety at Pakistan’s busiest airport. Additionally, expansion and upgrade projects at Sukkur, Skardu, and Dera Ghazi Khan airports are in progress to accommodate larger aircraft operations.
In a forward-looking initiative, a new greenfield airport for Dera Ismail Khan is in the planning stages, representing a pivotal step in bolstering Pakistan’s aviation sector. These updates were shared during the second e-court chaired by Acting Director General of PAA, Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed. He was accompanied by Deputy DG Airports Sadiq Rehman and other key directors. The session focused on addressing passenger concerns and operational challenges while reaffirming the PAA’s commitment to enhancing airport services and infrastructure. Key issues discussed included improving queue management systems at Islamabad Airport, enhancing parking facilities at Multan Airport, and the resumption of flight operations at Hyderabad and Parachinar airports.
The DG issued specific instructions to address these concerns promptly, emphasizing the PAA’s dedication to making airport operations safer, more efficient, and passenger-friendly. Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed expressed gratitude for passenger feedback, calling it a vital resource for the continuous improvement of airport services.
He reiterated the PAA’s resolve to ensure world-class facilities and operational excellence across all airports in Pakistan.
