Over Half Of Pakistanis See New Year As Turning Point For Economic Recovery

ISLAMABAD – A new survey revealed that a large number of Pakistanis are hopeful for economic improvement in the year 2026.

The results of the survey conducted by the Gallup Pakistan more than half of Pakistanis (51%) are optimistic about the country’s future, with many seeing the New Year as a turning point for economic recovery.

The survey showed that 51% of Pakistanis believe that 2026 will be a year of economic betterment, surpassing global optimism levels.

Globally, 37% of people expressed hope for improvement in the coming year, while in Pakistan, the figure was significantly higher.

This optimism has also grown compared to previous years. In 2024, 43% of Pakistanis felt hopeful for economic improvement, and this number rose to 53% in 2025.

The survey also highlighted a strong sense of hope for global peace. Around 52% of Pakistanis expressed optimism for a peaceful world in 2026.

However, 21% of respondents showed pessimism, expressing concerns about increasing conflict and unrest around the globe.

The level of hope for peace in Pakistan was notably higher than in neighboring India and the global average, with Pakistanis twice as likely to dream of a peaceful future.

Overall, the findings indicated a shift in the mindset of the people in Pakistan, as they look to the future with renewed hope and optimism.
