Order issued to register FIR soon after incident: AIG Memon

Additional IG Karachi Police Ghulam Nabi Memon has said that it has been decided that an FIR will be registered immediately after the incident. “Several SHOs have been suspended for not registering an FIR. 10,000 nore cameras will be installed in the Safe City Project.” Addressing the industrialists of Korangi Industrial Area, Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon said that 5,000 to 6,000 cameras have been installed in the Safe City project and another 10,000 cameras will be installed in the coming days. The Additional IG further said that crime registration has increased in the city, police have decided that FIR will be registered for every incident, this will discourage criminals. On this occasion, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Kati President Omar Rehan and Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon regarding Safe Korangi project. AIG Memon said that drug addicts are rising in the capital city of the province and mostly drug-related products are purchased via money acquired through criminal activities. “We have witnessed a decline in criminal activities in the city whenever strict action is taken against drug-addicts,” he said. It is to note that Murad Ali Shah has directed the chief secretary to establish more rehabilitation centres to overcome the menace. He was briefed that Memon Abad Centre was established in the city for the rehabilitation of drug addicts.
