OGDCL, KRL, SNGPL and PTV have qualified for the semi-finals of the President’s Cup One-Day Tournament scheduled to take place on 22 and 23 December.
The final of the tournament will take place on 25 December.
Shahzaib Khan’s unbeaten century powered KRL to a commanding 178-run victory over WAPDA in the 27th match of the tournament at the Naya Nazimabad Ground in Karachi.
After opting to bat, KRL posted 305 for five in their allotted 50 overs. Shahzaib anchored the innings with a brilliant unbeaten 134 off 143 balls, striking seven fours and as many sixes and was rightly adjudged player of the match.
He received solid support from Saad Baig, who struck a fluent 52, while skipper Iftikhar Ahmed contributed 42. For WAPDA, Mohammad Wasim Jr picked up two wickets.
In reply, WAPDA were bundled out for 127 in 30.4 overs despite Mohammad Naeem’s 41 at the top. Hamza Nazar and Sufyan Moqim shared eight wickets between them, claiming four wickets apiece, as KRL’s bowlers dominated proceedings.
Meanwhile, at the National Bank Stadium, SNGPL defeated Sahir Associates by seven wickets in the 28th fixture of the tournament. Sahir Associates were bowled out for 217 in 48.2 overs, with Mohammad Faiq top-scoring with 54. Mohammad Salman and Muhammad Shahzad bagged three wickets each for SNGPL.
In turn, Shan Masood led from the front with an unbeaten 105 off 104 balls, while Saad Khan struck a rapid 91 as SNGPL reached 218 for three in 35 overs. Shan Masood was named player of the match for his match-winning knock, which included eight fours.
