The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 55 illegal commercial buildings and premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees in LDA-controlled areas and various housing schemes on Friday.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 18 buildings in Jubilee Town, 17 in Faisal Town and Model Town Extension, and 10 each in Gulshan-e-Ravi and Government Superior Services Housing Scheme during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include American Lycetuff, Chughtai’s Lab, Medi Link, Nadia’s Bridal Studio, Haider Pharmacy, MedWell Clinic, Lahori Murgh Channay & Bong Paye, grocery stores, workshops, estate offices, and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, and Chief Town Planner II, Azhar Ali, supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams, assisted by the Police.
According to LDA officials, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings prior to the operations being carried out.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against violations of bylaws, illegal commercial buildings and non-payment of commercialisation fees in housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
