Lahore General Hospital (LGH) has resumed corneal transplant surgeries after a gap of nearly a decade.
The revival of this highly specialised surgical service marks a significant advancement in eye care and brings renewed hope to hundreds of visually impaired patients.
Recently, two deserving patients successfully underwent corneal transplant surgeries at the Eye Unit of LGH, reflecting the hospital’s growing capacity to provide advanced medical services.
Principal PGMI/LGH Prof Muhammad Farooq Afzal and Medical Superintendent Prof Faryad Hussain termed the achievement a historic landmark for the institution and congratulated the dedicated teams of LGH, PGMI, and Ameer-ud-Din Medical College for their collective efforts.
They stated that vision is one of the greatest blessings bestowed by Almighty Allah, and the restoration of a complex and life-changing facility like corneal transplantation signifies a new beginning for patients who have remained deprived of sight for years.
