In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, no vehicular movement would be permitted from either side of the Srinagar-Jammu highway between Nashri and the NAVYUG Tunnel from today until Saturday, officials said.
The administration has ordered the highway authority to perform repair and maintenance work on the thoroughfare and traffic from Nashri to the NAVYUG Tunnel and vice versa will be suspended due to the maintenance work.
Keeping in view, the repair and maintenance on the highway, no vehicular movement shall be allowed from either side on Srinagar-Jammu highway, the only surface link of the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the world. Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) road, connecting Ladakh region with Kashmir valley, will also be closed for vehicular movement in view of snow accumulation.—KMS
