ISLAMABAD –  DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said no one can intimidate or threaten State of Pakistan. No power in the world can bring Pakistan to its knees. Every possible measure will continue to be taken to defend the country’s peace, security, and stability.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to counterterrorism, the DG ISPR said intelligence-based operations against terrorists and their facilitators would continue without interruption until they are completely eliminated. He described those behind the attacks as enemies of Pakistan’s peace, prosperity, and development.

Pakistan’s position on terrorism remains “clear and unambiguous,” adding that the campaign against militant groups will continue with full force. He also stated that “Fitna al-Khawarij” has no connection with Islam. Pak Army spox said armed forces intensified counterterrorism operations across Balochistan, where three major terrorist attacks over the past four days left dozens of security personnel martyred but also resulted in the killing of 54 terrorists.

He said terrorists targeted innocent civilians and security installations in coordinated attacks, with the first major incident occurring in the Mangi Dam Quetta Pumping Station area. He added that terrorists also launched attacks on police checkpoints in Ziarat.

Balochistan and local police personnel displayed exceptional courage in resisting the attacks. He said at least 15 terrorists were killed during operations in Ziarat, while all police personnel martyred there were local officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

Lt Gen Chaudhry said 26 terrorists were eliminated during the three major incidents over the past four days. He added that fresh intelligence-based operations in Kharan and Dalbandin on Wednesday resulted in another 14 terrorists being killed, bringing the total number of militants killed in recent counterterrorism operations across Balochistan to 54.

The military spokesperson said nine police personnel were martyred in the initial attack in Mangi. He added that a further 18 police personnel embraced martyrdom in Wednesday’s attack, taking the total number of police martyrs in Mangi to 27. During the latest security operation, he said, forces killed 14 terrorists but also lost 11 personnel, who were martyred while carrying out the operation.

Overall, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said 42 security personnel laid down their lives in the line of duty during the recent wave of violence, describing their sacrifices as a testament to the country’s resolve against terrorism.

The military spokesperson also alleged that Afghan territory is being used for terrorist activities against Pakistan and claimed that Afghan authorities are backing such operations. He maintained that the development and stability of Balochistan are vital to Pakistan’s future and vowed that the state would continue pursuing terrorists and their facilitators at every level.
