In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities have suspended nine government teachers for not hoisting the Indian flag in their schools in Kishtwar district on the Indian Independence Day, the 15th August.

The Zonal Education Officer, Inderwal placed nine teachers under suspension with immediate effect and also constituted a three member committee to inquire into the matter and submit the report within 15 days.

It is worth mentioning here that the Narendra Modi-led fascist government and the Indian army establishment had ordered hoisting of the Indian flag on all the government buildings including educational institutions across occupied territory on August 15, 2022 and to celebrate the official Independence Day of India.

However, the instructions were not followed in letter and spirit by the several school managements. The teachers including Rafiq Ahmad, Piyare Lal, Ayaz Ahmad, Sajjad Ahmad, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din and Mohammad Sikandar have been placed under suspension with immediate effect till pending enquiry and are attached in the same school.—KMS
