WELLINGTON – New Zealand defeated England by 2 wickets in the third and final ODI at Wellington, completing a 3-0 series whitewash.

After winning the toss, New Zealand opted to bowl first, a move that paid off. England was bowled out for 222 runs in 40.2 overs. The top five English batsmen managed only 44 runs collectively, while Jimmy Anderson (68), Jos Buttler (38), and Brydon Carse (36) provided crucial contributions to help the team post a competitive total.

Blair Tickner was the standout bowler for New Zealand, taking 4 wickets, followed by Jacob Duffy with 3, Zach Foulkes with 2, and Mitchell Santner with 1.

Chasing 223, New Zealand reached the target in 44.4 overs, losing 8 wickets. Rachin Ravindra scored 46, Daryl Mitchell 44, and Devon Conway 34, playing pivotal roles in securing the win.

For England, Jimmy Anderson and Sam Curran took 2 wickets each, while Adil Rashid and Brydon Carse claimed 1 wicket apiece.

This victory marks New Zealand’s first ODI series win against England at home in 17 years and their first overall series triumph over England in 12 years.
