LAHORE – Lahore Traffic Police rolled out revised traffic challan system for 2026, introducing strict penalties for bikes, cars, and commercial vehicles in latst bid to strengthen road discipline, digitize enforcement, and reduce violations across the region.
Traffic enforcement in capital witnessed revised fines for motorcycles, cars, and commercial vehicles, alongside a major upgrade to the One App challan system, aiming to make enforcement more efficient, digital, and strict. The new framework not only revises penalties but also expands enforcement coverage, ensuring that even commercial vehicles are now fully integrated into the formal challan ticket system for traffic violations.
Bike Challans
Under the new rules, bikers will face a fine of Rs1,000 for several violations for
- Using mobile phones while riding
- Lane discipline violations (lane line breaches)
- Disrupting traffic flow
- Using pressure horns

However, tougher penalties remain firmly in place. A fine of Rs. 2,000 will continue for:
- Riding without a helmet
- One-way violations
- Driving without a valid license

- Rs. 2,000 fine for lane violations
- Rs. 3,000 fine for breaking traffic signals
In a major enforcement expansion, commercial vehicles will now face structured penalties as well Rs. 5,000 fine for driving without a license Rs. 5,000 fine for traffic signal violations
Authorities stressed that commercial transport will no longer operate outside the formal challan system.
Environmental and safety concerns are also part of the crackdown. Vehicles emitting excessive smoke will face fines as follows:
- Motorcycles & rickshaws: Rs. 2,000
- Cars: Rs. 3,000
- Commercial vehicles: Rs. 5,000
Lahore Traffic Police Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Sherazi stated that the purpose of these challans is not just punishment, but public correction and ensuring safer roads for all citizens. He urged citizens to strictly follow traffic laws to avoid penalties and contribute to safer traffic flow.
