PESHAWAR – Some relief for local government employees across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with provincial authorities implementing revised basic pay scales and 7% Ad Hoc Relief Allowance 2026.
Local Council Board Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has formally issued a notification introducing the revised basic pay scales and allowances for employees working in local government institutions across the province.
Under the notification, approval has also been granted for a 7% Ad Hoc Relief Allowance 2026, while the revised pay scales will apply to officers and other employees of the Local Council Board.
The decision is expected to benefit employees across several key local government institutions, bringing a significant change to their salary structure.
Revised Pay Scale
The revised pay scales will not be limited to Local Council Board employees. Employees of the Local Governance School will also be covered under the new salary structure.
Similarly, revised pay scales have been implemented for employees of the Capital Metropolitan Government Peshawar, while employees working in all Tehsil Municipal Administrations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will also fall under the revised pay scales.
The move is expected to provide financial benefits to officers, officials and other employees serving in different local government institutions across the province.
According to the Local Council Board, the revised pay scales and 7% Ad Hoc Relief Allowance will be applicable from July 1, 2026. The decision was taken in light of a July 22, 2026 letter issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department. The notification further clarifies that the allowances will be granted subject to the prescribed terms and conditions.
Officials said the implementation of the revised pay scales would provide direct financial benefits to employees working in various local government institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The development comes as a major relief for local government employees, who will now be entitled to the revised salary structure and the newly approved 7% Ad Hoc Relief Allowance from the beginning of the new financial year.
