Sri lankan Test (and ODI) captain Dimuth Karunaratne will gift the Yamaha motorcycle to his brother. The 31-year-old Dimuth won the motorcycle as the ‘most powerful player’ of the Test series.
He was handed over the dummy key at the presentation. Speaking exclusively minutes after winning the motorcycle, he said, ‘I have decided to gift it to my brother’. He also confirmed, ‘I don’t have any motorcycle in my garage and this is the one I have won as a prize and don’t want to sell it off.
The motor bike and the original keys will be delivered to him once the authorities get the original RTO number plate. The said motorbike was also displayed at the Galle International Stadium, where Sri lankan team won the first Test.
The captain had scored 139 and 22 runs in first Test and 65 and 21 runs in the second Test.
‘It will be up to the SLC board to decide who would physically retained the trophy’, the DFCC Bank CEO, Lakshman Silva, speaking exclusively at the P. Sara Oval, said. Later, it was confirmed by the SLC official that the trophy will be retained physically by the SLC. It will be displayed in the SLC museum.
