KARACHI – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday directed that women cricketers be provided with nutritious and healthy meals to support their training and performance.

The PCB chairman visited the Hanif Mohammad Regional High Performance Centre at the National Stadium Karachi, where he reviewed the ongoing training camp for probable players of the Pakistan women’s cricket team ahead of their tour of South Africa.

During the visit, Mohsin Naqvi met the coaching staff and players, encouraged the camp participants, and inquired about the training arrangements. He expressed satisfaction over the facilities being provided to the women cricketers during the camp and stressed the importance of proper nutrition alongside training.

The PCB chairman said the quality of coaching at the camp was excellent and urged players to work hard to achieve the desired results. He emphasized that passion, determination, and a competitive mindset were essential for success, adding that consistent hard work leads to achievement.

Mohsin Naqvi also underlined the need to continue preparations with upcoming international women’s cricket tournaments in mind. He stressed focused attention on practice sessions, physical fitness, and technical skills, noting that full physical fitness is crucial for international competition.

The coaches briefed the PCB chairman in detail about various training activities being carried out at the camp. Head coach Wahab Riaz, Abdul Rehman, Imran Farhat, and others were present on the occasion.

The training camp for probable players of the Pakistan women’s cricket team for the South Africa tour is being held under the supervision of National Academy coaches at the Hanif Mohammad Regional Performance Centre.

A total of 36 standout players from the National Women’s One-Day Tournament have been called up for the skills and fitness camp. The Pakistan women’s cricket squad for the South Africa tour, scheduled from February 10 to March 1, will be selected during the camp.

The tour includes a series of three One-Day Internationals and three T20 Internationals.

The players invited to the camp include Aliya Riaz, Anam Amin, Anosha Nasir, Ayesha Zafar, Diana Baig, Dua Majid, Aiman Fatima, Fatima Sana, Gul Feroza, Gul Rukh, Hafsa Khalid, Hamna Bilal, Hoorina Sajjad, Lubna Bahram, Momina Riyasat, Muneeba Ali, Najhiya Alvi, Nashra Sandhu, Natalia Pervaiz, Neha Sharmeen, Noreen Yaqoob, Umaima Sohail, Rameen Shamim, Rida Aslam, Sadaf Shams, Saira Jabeen, Shawal Zulfiqar, Sidra Amin, Syeda Aroob Shah, Syeda Masooma Zahra, Tasmia Rubab, Tuba Hassan, Um-e-Hani, Waheeda Akhtar and Yusra Amir.
