CARCACAS – The United States has reportedly carried out military attacks across multiple locations in Venezuela, including the capital city, Caracas. Explosions were reported in Caracas, while low-flying aircraft were observed over several areas of the city.
US media reported that President Donald Trump authorized the strikes, with at least seven explosions reported in Caracas. A US official confirmed to news agencies that the United States is conducting military operations against Venezuela.
The Venezuelan government has confirmed that attacks targeted Caracas, as well as the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira. Officials claimed that the US aims to seize Venezuela’s oil and mineral resources. Responding to the attacks, the Venezuelan government asserted that the country’s resources will not be taken and strongly condemned US military aggression. Following the strikes, President Nicolás Maduro declared a nationwide state of emergency.

Russian media reported that the strikes targeted Venezuela’s defense headquarters and claimed that President Maduro evacuated the presidential palace. There are also unverified reports suggesting the possible commencement of US Marine ground operations on several Venezuelan islands.
In response, Colombia’s president stated that missiles are being fired at Caracas and called for an emergency session of the UN Security Council to address the escalating situation.
Trump claims Maduro captured during “large-scale” US operation
United States President Donald Trump said that the US conducted a “major operation” targeting Venezuela and its president, Nicolas Maduro.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that Maduro and his wife were “captured and removed from the country” as part of the operation, which he described as being carried out “in coordination with US law enforcement agencies.”
