In North Nazimabad area, two dacoits were apprehended by local residents near Farooq-e-Azam Mosque, only to be subjected to mob violence. The enraged crowd brutally assaulted the dacoits, resulting in the death of one and severe injuries to the other.
Upon receiving the report, law enforcement authorities rushed to the scene and transported the deceased’s body and the injured suspect to the hospital for medical attention. Police recovered a pistol and ammunition from the dacoits, along with evidence of their criminal history.
This incident adds to the concerning trend of citizens taking the law into their own hands, with Karachi witnessing a disturbing number of deaths—46 in total—resulting from confrontations with robbers in 2024. February alone accounted for 20 fatalities, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced security measures and community policing efforts.
