Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has pledged to enhance lighting, cleanliness, and other essential arrangements within Karachi cemeteries to facilitate citizens visiting for Fateha khawani on Shab-e-Barat. During a meeting held on Tuesday to discuss Shab-e-Barat arrangements, Mayor Wahab emphasized the establishment of Facilitation Centers at all graveyards, deployment of city wardens, ambulances, and fire tenders, and the provision of drinking water.
Additionally, a team of city wardens will manage vehicle movement and parking outside cemeteries. Present at the meeting were Municipal Commissioner SM Afzal Zaidi, along with various other officials from relevant departments.
Mayor Wahab stressed the importance of cleanliness, lighting, and water supply around cemeteries, particularly at Mohammad Shah Graveyard, Sakhi Hasan, Mewa Shah, Azeempura, and Model Colony cemeteries. He appointed the Director Graveyards as the focal person to ensure effective coordination among departments for the implementation of necessary arrangements.
