Islamabad: Face of the international fight for women’s education and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai expressed her pain at the news of the Afghan Taliban reversing their decision about the reopening of schools and sending girls back home from schools.
Malala said in a tweet that she had hoped for one day that Afghan girls walking to school would not be sent back home. But the Taliban did not keep their promise, Malala added.
I had one hope for today: that Afghan girls walking to school would not be sent back home. But the Taliban did not keep their promise. They will keep finding excuses to stop girls from learning – because they are afraid of educated girls and empowered women. #LetAfghanGirlsLearn
