LWMC holds Clean & Green Awareness Seminar

Lahore Waste Management Company conducted Cleanliness Awareness Seminar at Fatima Jinnah College for Women, Chuna Mandi Walled City on Clean and Green Pakistan/Lahore.
LWMC conducts awareness-raising programs throughout the year whose emphasis is to change the behavior of people regarding proper disposal of solid waste in the city. In continuation to clean & green campaign, the seminar was organized in the said educational institution where nearly more than hundred students, faculty members took part. Officers from LWMC followed by FJC Principal Ms Dr Bushra Samina took part in the seminar.
LWMC Communication Deputy Manager Umair Khan and Rehman Rashid briefed the students and faculty members on the role of LWMC in the city and how citizens can participate in maintaining cleanliness. Further, they also briefed the audience about the initiatives taken by LWMC i.e. compost, landfill etc. followed by the latest administrative rights to impose fines for improper disposal of solid waste.
Screening of informative documentary on solid waste and public service messages was the part of the session.
On the occasion, Jamil Khawar stated that organizing such awareness session was a very key component of the organization and reason behind to raise awareness was to reach maximum people and especially the upcoming new generation which can play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness in the city.
Further, he also briefed the audience regarding LWMC ongoing and future potential projects; adding that LWMC was working on waste to energy project which will be completed in near future. He also invited students to join LWMC as environmental ambassadors on behalf of LWMC.
