MUZAFFARABAD – A leaked audio conversation of senior leaders of babbed Joint Awami Action Committee, Shaukat Nawaz Mir and Khawaja Mehran, surfaced online and is being widely shared online, exposing group’s intentions and the state’s decision to ban it.
According to claims cited by Ahmed Mansoor, the recording allegedly contains discussions that point toward the possibility of coordinated unrest in parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, particularly Rawalakot. Shaukat Nawaz Mir can be heard saying that political traction in Muzaffarabad and Mirpur would depend on significant escalation of tensions in Rawalakot.

He is also heard referring to assessing the presence and deployment of security forces in the area before any further steps are taken. Khawaja Mehran responds by noting that security forces are already present in Rawalakot to maintain law and order. Shaukat Nawaz Mir then reiterates his view that without major confrontation in Rawalakot, wider objectives would remain out of reach.
