According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moderate moist currents are penetrating upper parts of Pakistan and are likely to strengthen from tonight. A westerly wave is affecting northern and western parts of the country.

Under these conditions, significant monsoon rains are likely in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, Attock, Lahore, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Faisalabad, Jhang, Okara, Wazirabad, Hafizabad and Kasur on Thursday night and the next two days, with occasional breaks. Heavy rains are also expected at a few places during the night and morning hours.
Light to moderate rain is also expected in Noorpur Thal, Layyah, Bhakkar, Taunsa, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Possible Impacts
Downpours may cause urban flooding in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore and Sialkot. Heavy rainfall may cause flash flooding in local streams/nullahs of Murree, Galiyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Pothohar region during the period. Widespread rains may cause landslides in Murree and Galiyat.
Temperatures Outlook
Lahore’s daytime temperatures are expected to remain between 34°C and 36°C on Friday and 35°C and 37°C on Saturday.
