More rains and gusty winds with heavy falls are likely in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Friday night and Saturday, with occasional breaks.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong moist currents are penetrating the upper and central parts of Pakistan. A Westerly wave is also affecting the upper parts of the country and is likely to persist till tomorrow.
Under these weather conditions, more rains and gusty winds with heavy falls are likely in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, Attock, Lahore, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Faisalabad, Jhang, Okara, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Wazirabad, Hafizabad and Kasur on Friday night and Saturday, with occasional breaks.
Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Noorpur Thal, Layyah, Bhakkar, Taunsa, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan during the period.
Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore and Sialkot. Widespread rains may generate flash flooding in local streams/nullahs of Murree, Galiyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Pothohar region including Nulla Lai.
Heavy rainfall may cause landslides in Murree and Galiyat.
Lahore’s daytime temperatures are expected to remain between 35°C and 37°C on Saturday and Sunday.
Over the past 24 hours, rains with isolated heavy falls occurred in Islamabad, Lahore and upper/central Punjab. Hot and humid weather prevailed over southern districts.
