With the beginning of fourth monsoon spell, more rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and most parts of Punjab on Wednesday night and the next two days.
Heavy and at times very heavy downpours are also expected at scattered places during the forecast period.
Synoptic Situation
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a deep depression lies over Chhattisgarh (India) and is likely to move westwards across northeast Madhya Pradesh (India) during the next 18 to 24 hours.
Weak to moderate moist currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are penetrating the upper parts of the country at lower atmospheric levels. A shallow westerly wave is also affecting the upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, more monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Okara, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot, Khushab, Mianwali, Layyah, Bhakkar, Noorpurthal, Sargodha, Sahiwal and Pakpattan on Wednesday night and the next two days.
Scattered heavy and at times very heavy downpours are also expected during the forecast period.
Impacts and Advisories
Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pothohar region, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Lahore and Faisalabad.
Landslides may occur in vulnerable areas of Murree, and Galyat.
Heavy rains may generate flash floods in local streams/nullahs of Murree, Galyat, Northeastern Punjab, Islamabad, Pothohar region, and hill torrents of D G Khan.
Heavy rains, Windstorm & lightning may damage weak structures such as solar panels, electric poles, and billboards.

Daytime temperatures in Lahore are expected to remain between 33°C and 35°C on Thursday and Friday.
