Synoptic Situation
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a deep depression lies over Chhattisgarh (India) and is likely to move westwards across northeast Madhya Pradesh (India) during the next 18 to 24 hours.
Weak to moderate moist currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are penetrating the upper parts of the country at lower atmospheric levels. A shallow westerly wave is also affecting the upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, intermittent rains and gusty winds with scattered heavy and at times very heavy falls are expected in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Nowshera, Charsadda, Karak, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Swabi, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Kurram, D.I Khan, Bannu, Waziristan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, and Hangu on Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday.

Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Peshawar and Nowshera.
Landslides may occur in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Buner, Battagram, Mansehra, Shangla and Abbottabad.
Widespread rains may generate flash floods in local streams/nullahs.
Heavy rains, windstorm & lightning may damage weak structures such as solar panels, electric poles, and billboards.

Daytime temperatures in Peshawar are expected to remain between 32°C and 34°C on Thursday and Friday.
