Synoptic Situation
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a deep depression lies over Chhattisgarh (India) and is likely to move westwards across northeast Madhya Pradesh (India) during the next 18 to 24 hours.
Weak to moderate moist currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are penetrating the upper parts of the country at lower atmospheric levels. A shallow westerly wave is also affecting the upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, rains and gusty winds with isolated heavy falls are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper/central Punjab, northeast Balochistan and Kashmir on Wednesday night and the next two days, with occasional breaks.
Impacts and Advisories
Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pothohar region, Peshawar, Nowshera, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Lahore and Faisalabad.
Landslides may occur in vulnerable areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Buner, Battagram, Mansehra, Shangla, Abbottabad), Murree, Galyat, and Kashmir.
Heavy rains may generate flash floods in local streams/nullahs of Kashmir, Murree, Galyat, Northeastern Punjab, Islamabad, Pothohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and hill torrents of D G Khan and Northeastern Balochistan.
Heavy rains, Windstorm & lightning may damage weak structures such as solar panels, electric poles, and billboards.
