Lahore and Karachi are among the five most polluted cities in the world, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) of 296 and 167, respectively.
India’s Delhi leads the list of the world’s most polluted cities, as the AQI hits the hazardous level of 416.
According to the data collected from the IQ Air website on Sunday at 02:28 pm, Lahore (Pakistan) is at the second spot with an AQI of 296 (very unhealthy), followed by Kuwait City (Kuwait) with an AQI of 184 (unhealthy).
Baghdad (Iraq) ranked fourth with an AQI of 181 (unhealthy), followed by Pakistan’s Karachi with an AQI of 167 (unhealthy).
Cairo (Egypt) ranked sixth with an AQI of 163 (unhealthy), closely followed by Sarajevo (Bosnia Herzegovina) with an AQI of 153 (unhealthy).
Chengdu (China) is ranked eighth with an AQI of 148 (unhealthy for sensitive groups). Dhaka (Bangladesh) and Kolkata (India) are ranked ninth and 10th with an AQI of 139 (unhealthy for sensitive groups).
AQI of the top city (Delhi) is hazardous, that of the second (Lahore) is very unhealthy, that of the third to seventh unhealthy, while that of the eighth to 19th cities is unhealthy for sensitive groups.
