A delegation of senior journalists from Lahore recently visited Sindh and commended the provincial government’s development projects, particularly in the underdeveloped regions of Thar and NangarParkar. Meeting with Sindh Senior Minister SharjeelInamMemon, the journalists expressed their admiration for the availability of clean drinking water and other advancements in these areas, countering previously negative perceptions shaped by media reports.

During the meeting, Minister Memon highlighted the Sindh government’s commitment to the Thar Coal project, originally initiated by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and later revived by President Asif Ali Zardari. He emphasized the project’s role in providing affordable electricity, noting that Thar coal is a key resource for Pakistan’s energy needs. The government is currently generating 100 MW from the Nooriabad Wind Power Generation Plant and over 3,000 MW from Thar coal, with plans to utilize these resources for both domestic use and export. Minister Memon further detailed the extensive investments made in infrastructure to support the Thar coal industry, asserting that Thar’s coal reserves could meet national energy needs and support exports for up to 200 years. He praised the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for its visionary leadership and contributions to the country, including the 18th Amendment and advancements in various sectors.

SharjeelMemon also defended the legacy of the Bhutto family and the PPP’s unwavering commitment to Pakistan, emphasizing their sacrifices and contributions to the nation. He noted Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s efforts to promote unity.
