The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) has announced an immediate inquiry into the actions of Deputy Director RRG MirzaAkhlaqBaig. The inquiry, approved by the competent authority, is being initiated under Section 14 (2) along with Section 12 (1) (e) and (k) of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation Act. Deputy Managing Director HRD&A Muhammad Saqibhas been appointed as the Inquiry Officer.

The inquiry follows allegations of misconduct and maladministration against MirzaAkhlaqBaig. As Deputy Director of Tax Revenue, Baig is accused of illegally disconnecting water lines, which was beyond his responsibilities, allegedly with the intent to tarnish the reputation of the Water Corporation and its administration. He was also responsible for collecting tax revenue and checking Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) with a TDS meter to determine freshwater quality. However, it is alleged that he made an unauthorized video and assumed the role of the Anti-

Theft Cell without proper approval, presenting misleading information. Furthermore, Baig reportedly violated KW&SC guidelines and SOPs by sharing the video on social media, further defaming the organization. In a surprising development, a visiting card was found at DilshadManzil in Nazimabad, falsely presenting Baig as the Coordinator to the CEO-MD, which the authorities suspect was an attempt to fraudulently collect money.

Baig has also been accused of failing to report to the Deputy Managing Director of Revenue when instructed and instead creating a misleading video with fabricated stories. His actions, including sending voice messages to social media groups and making unsubstantiated complaints against various departments.
