A group of women staged a protest in front of Karachi Press Club on Monday against harassment and sacking of female polio workers in Korangi District Health Department and making the Accountant’s Office, what they alleged, a bribery house. The demonstration was organized by women’s action committee Health department District Korangi and workers of Welcome Welfare Trust Pakistan. Addressing the protesters, Saba Khan and Qasim Jalali accused the black sheep of the Health Department for making women insecure in the Health Department of Korangi District. Khalil Bhutto, Accountant and Admin Officer, Health Department Karachi, Ameer Hussain Shah, president of the People’s Paramedical Staff Welfare Association Sindh, a subsidiary of the ruling party, and Javed Azeem, a deputy courier, and a few of his associates have made baseless false allegations against honest accountant Abdul Aziz for providing moral support to the affected women. The Accountant’s Office has been turned into a bribery house by suspending Aziz without any investigation and the Health Department Korangi is being forced to register a false FIR against the accountant and also forcing him to resign. Saba Khan demanded from Chief Justice of Pakistan, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Prime Minister, Governor Sindh and Sindh Health Minister that Khalil Bhutto, who was involved in serious financial corruption in Korangi Health Department in Corona Emergency, along with some black sheep of a sub-organization of the ruling party is looting and harassing women while the government of Sindh has remained a silent spectator. She demanded a covert investigation and taking notice of the alleged abuses and looting, adding otherwise, the national campaign against Corona and polio could face irreparable damage.
