Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Weather: Rains, Windstorms Expected

Monsoon rains and windstorms with isolated heavy falls are likely in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday night and the next two days, with occasional breaks.

Synoptic Situation

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak monsoon currents are penetrating upper and eastern parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave is also affecting northern parts of the country.

Monsoon rains and windstorms with isolated heavy falls are likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Malakand, Buner, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, D.I.Khan, Kurram, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera and Waziristan on Wednesday night and the next two days, with occasional breaks.

Temperatures

Daytime temperatures in Peshawar are expected to remain between 37°C and 39°C on Thursday and Friday.

Over the past 24 hours, hot and humid weather prevailed in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, rain occurred at isolated places.
