ISLAMABAD – Just days after disappointing defeat in series opener, Pakistan scripted remarkable turnaround in the Caribbean. Powered by disciplined bowling and an assured batting display, the visitors outclassed West Indies by eight wickets in the second Test to level the two-match series 1-1 and celebrate their first away Test victory since 2023.

After suffering 90-run defeat in the maiden game at Tarouba, the South Asian nation responded with disciplined bowling and composed batting to square the series on Caribbean soil. Chasing a modest target of 75, Pakistan resumed the fourth day’s play needing just 18 more runs after reaching 57/2 by lunch. The chase was wrapped up in the sixth over of the afternoon session as captain Babar Azam hammered left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican for two consecutive sixes, sealing the victory in emphatic fashion.
Abdullah Shafique once again anchored Pakistan’s batting after his magnificent unbeaten 160 in the first innings. The opener remained unbeaten on 24 in the chase, while Babar also finished undefeated on 24, striking two fours and two towering sixes to complete the job.
Pakistan’s pursuit had briefly stumbled when Jayden Seales removed Imam-ul-Haq for nine with the score on 15. However, Abdullah and emerging opener Azan Awais steadied the innings with a valuable 27-run partnership before Shamar Joseph bowled Awais for 18.

With Babar joining Abdullah at the crease, any hopes of a West Indies fightback quickly faded. The pair calmly guided Pakistan to victory, securing the Green Shirts’ first Test win away from home since 2023.
Earlier in the day, West Indies resumed their second innings at 103/6 but failed to mount any resistance. The hosts added only 14 runs before being bowled out for 117 in 46.1 overs, leaving Pakistan with a straightforward target.
Brandon King, who sustained a lower-back injury on the third day, was unable to return to the crease, further weakening the home side’s batting effort.
Pakistan’s bowlers maintained relentless pressure from the outset of the morning session. Left-arm spinner Usman struck early by clean bowling Kemar Roach for a duck before Mohammad Ali dismissed Justin Greaves, who managed only three runs. Shamar Joseph scored nine before becoming Usman’s fourth victim of the innings.
Usman and Sajid Khan shared the bowling honours with four wickets apiece in the second innings, while Mohammad Ali chipped in with one wicket as Pakistan dismantled the West Indies batting lineup.
The convincing triumph not only helped Pakistan erase the disappointment of the opening Test defeat but also ensured the visitors returned home with the series honours shared after a commanding performance in the decider.
