Islamabad, Pakistan Weather: More intermittent rains predicted

Intermittent rains and gusty winds are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Pakistan on Wednesday night and Thursday.

Isolated heavy falls are also expected during the forecast period.

Synoptic Situation

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak monsoon currents are penetrating upper and eastern parts of country. A westerly wave is also affecting northern parts of the country.

Weather Forecast

Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country on Wednesday night and Thursday.  However, intermittent rains are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper/central Punjab. Isolated heavyfalls may also occur during the forecast period.

Temperatures

Daytime temperatures in Islamabad are expected to remain between 36°C and 38°C on Thursday and Friday.

Daytime temperatures in Rawalpindi are expected to remain between 35°C and 37°C on Thursday and Friday.

Past Weather

Over the past 24 hours, hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the country. However, scattered rains occurred in Islamabad, Pothohar region and Gilgit Baltistan, while at isolated places in northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ans Kashmir.

Islamabad recorded a maximum temperature of 36°C with evening humidity at 61 per cent.

Rawalpindi recorded a maximum temperature of 35°C with evening humidity at 55 per cent.
