K-Electric, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, has intensified its crackdown on electricity theft and defaulters. Recently, the utility company conducted operations in Bin Qasim and surrounding areas, resulting in the removal of 871 illegal connections (kundas) from its infrastructure, weighing a total of 2,105 kilograms. These illegal connections were supplying electricity to approximately 700 households, leading to the theft of nearly 100,000 units of electricity annually.

In a separate operation in the Bugti Goth area of Bin Qasim, more than 300 illegal connections were dismantled, with 200 kilograms of wires removed. Similarly, in Old Hassan Panhwar Goth, 250 illegal connections, weighing 445 kilograms, were taken down.

The unauthorized kunda connections bypass the safety protocols of the network, posing risks not only to K-Electric’s infrastructure but also to the safety of residents, particularly during the monsoon season. K-Electric regularly conducts these kunda removal drives to reduce losses and safeguard its electricity infrastructure.
