Karachi, Sindh weather: Rains likely in southeastern districts

KARACHI – Rains and gusty winds are predicted in southeastern districts of Sindh on Tuesday night.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these weather conditions, rains and gusty winds are predicted at isolated places in Mithi, Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, Mirpurkhas, Sajawal and surrounding areas on Tuesday night. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the province.

On Wednesday and the next two days, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most districts, while very hot in upper and central districts during daytime. General public especially children, women and senior citizens are advised to take precautionary measures. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight during the daytime especially during peak sunshine hours (11AM to 04 PM).

Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 40°C and 42°C on Wednesday and between 41°C and 43°C on Thursday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 41°C and 43°C on Wednesday and between 42°C and 44°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of Sindh during the last 24 hours. However, rains occurred at isolated places.

Jacobabad and Mohenjo-Daro remained the hottest places in Sindh, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. The maximum temperature in Dadu was recorded at 45°C.

In Karachi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 70 per cent.

In Hyderabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 53 per cent.
