Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz NaeemurRehman has expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation in the city, accusing elements of disrupting peace and attempting to affect voter turnout negatively. He warned against a recurrence of violence, arson, and hatred-driven politics in Karachi, stating that the city cannot endure such turmoil again. Jamaat-e-Islami claimed a significant victory in municipal elections in the central district, securing the most votes and seats from various parts of the city.

The party expressed confidence in winning the upcoming general elections and vowed not to accept rigging, result manipulation, or terrorism. The party condemned the recent killing of an MQM worker during a clash with PPP members in Nazimabad, demanding a thorough judicial inquiry into the incident.

Expressing concern about the prevailing security situation, JI also urged the Election Commission to appoint law enforcement officials outside polling stations to prevent any disturbances. The party emphasized that a peaceful environment is essential for free and fair elections. Naeemur Rehman addressed these issues during a press conference held at the Noor Haq office on Monday. The event was attended by various Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, including candidates for the upcoming elections, Dr. Osama Razi (NA-236), Muslim Parvez (NA-249), Raja Arif Sultan, Abdul Razzaq Khan (PS-114), Syed Wajih Hassan (PS-128), and Judge Sadr-ud-Din (PS-122), among others. The leaders discussed the security situation in Karachi, emphasizing the need for a secure and peaceful electoral environment. Jamaat-e-Islami also criticized the political rivalry between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and MuttahidaQaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and condemned the recent violence in Nazimabad. He called for a judicial inquiry into the killing of an MQM-P worker and demanded that the culprits be brought to justice. Hafiz NaeemurRehman highlighted the efforts of Jamaat-e-Islami to promote a peaceful and secure environment, especially for students during the Intermediate Exams, and announced the launch of a portal for affected students to report any issues.
