ISLAMABAD – The federal government has started construction of what is being described as the first modern service centre designed to bring services of the Ministry of Interior its affiliated departments under one roof.
The centre is being developed in F-6, Islamabad, with the aim of making it easier for citizens to access a range of government services at a single location.
What Services will be Offered?
The facility is expected to provide services including licences, no-objection certificates (NOCs), visas, identity cards, passports and other public services handled by departments operating under the interior ministry.
On Wednesday night, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the site of the under-construction centre and reviewed the progress of the project.
During the visit, he directed officials to complete the facility as quickly as possible and make it operational within a short timeframe.
According to the briefing given to the minister, the centre will include a modern public dealing hall, dedicated service counters and a spacious waiting area.
Naqvi said the project was aimed at providing citizens with government services that are faster, easier and more dignified. He described integrated and citizen-friendly service delivery as a key government priority.
The minister called the F-6 facility a model project and said similar centres would eventually be established in other cities to improve public access to government services.
