LAHORE – The Ministry of Finance has announced a reduction in the markup rate for the General Provident Fund (GPF) balances of regular government employees.
The ministry has issued a notification in this regard, stating that a 12.05 percent markup will be applied to the GPF balance maintained by regular government employees.
The GPF amount is deducted from employees’ salaries every month and accumulates over time.
According to the notification, the balance held in an employee’s GPF account as of June 30, 2026, will earn a markup at the rate of 12.05 percent.
The additional amount is expected to be reflected in employees’ GPF balances in their August salary slips.
The revised profit rate for the GP Fund will come into effect from July 1, 2025.
It is recalled that the GPF markup rate stood at 12.46 percent during financial year 2024-25 and 1.97 percent during fiscal year 2023-24.
