According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents are penetrating upper parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave is also affecting upper parts of the country.

More monsoon rains with heavy downpours are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pothohar region, upper Punjab, Kashmir, Upper/Central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan on Wednesday night and the next two days, with occasional breaks.
Possible Impacts
Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Mardan, Swabi, Peshawar, Nowshera, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot and Lahore.
Widespread rains may cause flash flooding in local nullahs of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Landslides may occur in hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Galiyat and Kashmir.
Temperatures
Daytime temperatures in Islamabad and Rawalpindi are expected to remain between 28°C and 30°C on Thursday and between 29°C and 31°C on Friday.

Over the past 24 hours, widespread rain-wind/thundershowers occurred in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and at scattered places in Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir. Heavy downpours also occurred during this period.
