ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Syria are set to deepen diplomatic and economic engagement as Syrian Foreign Minister and Expatriates Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani arrives in Pakistan today for a two-day official visit, signaling a fresh push to strengthen bilateral ties.
The visit, scheduled for August 19–20, comes at the invitation of Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan. Al-Shaibani will be accompanied by a high-level Syrian delegation.
During the visit, Islamabad and Damascus will hold in-depth discussions covering the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, with both sides expected to explore new avenues for expanding cooperation.
The talks will also focus on regional and international developments, providing an opportunity for Islamabad and Damascus to exchange perspectives on rapidly evolving geopolitical challenges.
The high-level engagement is being viewed as an important step in taking Pakistan-Syria relations into a new phase, with both countries seeking to broaden cooperation and reinforce diplomatic ties.
The visit shows Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement with Syria and comes as Islamabad seeks stronger cooperation with regional partners on matters of mutual interest.
