According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, cold and dry weather will likely persist in the Twin Cities and most parts of the country on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday. Freezing weather will likely persist in the northern parts of the country. Fog (in patches) may develop over plain areas of northeast/south Punjab and upper Sindh.
Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 02°C and 04°C on Friday and Saturday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 05°C and 07°C on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather persisted in the Twin Cities and most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in the northern parts of the country.
Leh remained the coldest place in the country, where the temperature dropped 10°C below the freezing point. The minimum temperature in Astore was recorded at -06°C, in Gupis at -05°C, in Skardu, Hunza and Kalat at -04°C, and in Kalam, Gilgit and Quetta at -03°C.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 04°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 93 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 07°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 80 per cent.
