ISLAMABAD – Islamabad is set to experience aerial activity tomorrow as authorities announced “Marka-e-Haq” flypast exercise scheduled for 8 May 2026, with fighter jets and other aircraft expected to take part in operations over the capital’s airspace from the morning.
The exercise will involve noticeable increase in jet movements and aerial maneuvers as part of routine training activities and preparations linked to a national event. Citizens have been advised that all such movements are part of scheduled drills and there is no cause for concern or panic.
The upcoming flypast exercise in Islamabad is being seen as more than a routine training display, symbolizing Pakistan’s air force readiness and operational capability. Such aerial demonstrations are often used to showcase professional skill, coordination, and preparedness of fighter jet formations, especially in the context of heightened regional tensions and past military confrontations with India.
The announcement comes amid celebrations of “Marka-e-Haq” to describe the recent period of heightened tensions and military confrontation with India, particularly the escalation in May 2025. That phase included cross-border strikes, retaliatory actions, and eventually a ceasefire understanding.
Marka-e-Haq was defensive and justified response during the conflict. It is being employed to highlight Pakistan’s position that it responded to aggression, maintained military readiness, and sustained strategic deterrence throughout the escalation period.
