ISLAMABAD – Residents across Islamabad observed military jets carrying out aerial manoeuvres over the city, leading to curiosity and speculation among the public.
Officials later clarified that the aircraft movements were part of rehearsal activities ahead of a scheduled VVIP Guard of Honour. However, they did not share further details.
According to authorities, such flypast drills are a routine element of ceremonial preparations and are conducted to ensure precise coordination and timing during official events.
The authorities reassured citizens that the exercises are conducted under standard safety procedures and do not pose any threat to the public.
They added that similar rehearsals are commonly held ahead of high-level state ceremonies as part of established official protocol.
UAE President Visit to Pakistan
Report said United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is scheduled to visit Pakistan on Friday (December 26) for an official trip aimed at enhancing bilateral engagement and discussing key regional matters.
All logistical preparations for the visit have been completed, and the visiting leader will receive a formal and ceremonial reception. President Asif Ali Zardari will host the UAE president during his stay.
The meetings are expected to center on expanding collaboration in areas such as trade, investment, and economic development. In addition, both sides will exchange views on regional stability, security concerns, and defence-related cooperation.
Officials believe the visit will mark an important step toward further strengthening relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates while promoting mutual regional objectives.
However, it remains unconfirmed whether the aerobatic rehearsal is being conducted in preparation for the upcoming visit of the UAE president.
