President JoharQandhari of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) extended a warm welcome to the Iranian President’s visit to Pakistan, highlighting the potential for stronger ties and increased trade between the two nations. Qandhari expressed optimism that the visit would not only mend past tensions but also open doors for enhanced trade and brotherly relations.

He emphasized the untapped trade opportunities between Pakistan and Iran, particularly in the energy sector, including gas and petroleum products. With an eye on economic cooperation, Qandhari called for resolving longstanding issues like the Pak-Iran gas pipeline. He proposed that procuring gas from Iran at competitive prices could help alleviate industrial challenges in Pakistan. Additionally, he suggested exploring local currency or barter trade to ease pressure on Pakistan’s export bill and foreign exchange reserves.
