After months of leaks and speculation, the wait is finally over as Apple unveiled iPhone 18 series with a bigger price tag powerful new hardware and major camera upgrades, while saving its biggest surprise for last, the long-rumoured foldable iPhone Duo.
The new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have become $100 more expensive than their predecessors, pushing the expected registered price of the top model in Pakistan to over Rs6Lac.
iPhone 18 Price
iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max begins at $1,299, with both prices applying to the 256GB variants. At current exchange rates, that is roughly Rs332,000 for the iPhone 18 Pro and Rs360,000 for the iPhone 18 Pro Max before PTA taxes and other local charges.
Once PTA registration is added, however, the numbers change dramatically. iPhone 18 Pro could cost Pakistani buyers around Rs582,000, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to reach approximately Rs610,000 after registration.
That means Pakistanis looking for Apple’s biggest and most powerful new iPhone could soon be staring at a bill of more than six lakh rupees. Preorders will open on September 12, with the new iPhones officially going on sale from September 18.
More Power into iPhone 18 Pro
Despite retaining a familiar overall design, Apple has made major changes inside the new Pro models. The biggest upgrade is the new A20 Pro chip, built using a 2nm process.
Apple has upgraded the CPU, GPU and Neural Engine, giving the phones more processing power for gaming, demanding applications and AI-related tasks. iPhone 18 Pro lineup comes with 12GB RAM, while buyers can choose storage options ranging from 256GB all the way up to 2TB.
iPhone 18 Pro Max Battery Life
Apple has also targeted one of the biggest complaints smartphone users have, battery life. iPhone 18 Pro is rated for up to 24 hours, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max can deliver up to 30 hours. Fast charging can take the phone to around 50% in approximately 15 minutes under supported conditions.
Wireless charging is also faster, with MagSafe and Qi2 support reaching 25W.
48MP Cameras Across Pro Setup
Apple is putting considerable emphasis on photography and video with the new Pro Max. The phone features a triple 48MP camera system, consisting of wide, telephoto and ultrawide cameras. The telephoto camera offers 4x optical zoom, while the ultrawide lens provides a 120-degree field of view.
The camera system also features a LiDAR scanner for depth sensing. But one of the biggest changes is the addition of a variable mechanical aperture. This gives the camera greater control over the amount of light entering the lens and can provide more flexibility when shooting in different lighting conditions.
For video creators, the phone supports 4K recording at up to 120fps, along with Dolby Vision HDR, ProRes, ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2 and spatial video.
The front camera has also been upgraded to 18MP and supports autofocus and 4K recording.
6.9-Inch Display With 3,000-Nit Peak Brightness
iPhone 18 Pro Max comes with a massive 6.9-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display. 120Hz screen supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision, while peak brightness can reach an impressive 3,000 nits.
Apple has added Ceramic Shield 2 protection and an anti-reflective coating. The handset measures 163.4 x 78 x 8.8mm and weighs approximately 249 grams. It also carries an IP68 rating, meaning it is protected against dust and can withstand immersion in water up to six metres for 30 minutes.
For users who shoot large amounts of video or simply want massive storage, Apple has taken things further.

iOS 27 and Wi-Fi 7 Arrive
The new flagship runs iOS 27 and supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.
USB-C remains the charging and connectivity standard, with support for USB 3.2 Gen 2 and DisplayPort.
The phone also features Face ID, NFC, Ultra Wideband technology and satellite-based services including Emergency SOS, Messages and Find My.
Apple is offering the iPhone 18 Pro Max in Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy.
AirPods 5
Apple did not stop with the iPhone. The company has also introduced the AirPods 5, bringing a redesigned acoustic architecture and improved active noise cancellation. Apple claims ANC performance is 50% better than the AirPods 4.
The new earbuds also gain Siri-powered features when paired with an iPhone, while a new real-time translation feature can help users translate conversations. Battery life reaches around four hours with ANC switched on.
The standard AirPods 5 start at $129, while the higher-end $149 version adds touch-based volume controls, an additional hour of ANC battery life and a wireless charging case.
