A team of international auditors from USAP-CMA, led by Oscar Annabel Rubio, has wrapped up its 10-day assessment of Pakistan’s aviation security protocols, aimed at enhancing standards through rigorous evaluation.
The auditors arrived in Karachi on February 18, focusing on scrutinizing the Aviation Security Directorate of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) for five days, followed by four days of evaluating security implementations at Jinnah International Airport.
During the audit, the team meticulously assessed adherence to ICAO’s Security and Passenger Facilitation Standards, monitored security operations, inspected access control and passenger screening measures, and conducted staff interviews.
The audit culminated with commendations for the robust aviation security framework of the Airports Security Force (ASF), highlighted during a concluding ceremony on February 27. The ASF’s Chief Security Officer provided detailed insights into aviation security measures and emergency management proficiency.
