Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government has admitted that 750 persons were arrested under draconian law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in three years till 2020.

The Indian Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Indian Parliament, today, said that 177 persons were arrested in 2018, 247 in 2019 and 346 in 2020.

He responded in negative to a question whether the Indian government has also any proposal to amend the UAPA to “prevent the harassment of innocent persons.” He claimed that there are adequate Constitutional, institutional and statutory safeguards, including inbuilt safeguards in the UAPA itself, to prevent misuse of the law.

Responding to a written question, Nityanand Rai said 104 Indian forces’ personnel were killed and 223 were injured in different attacks in IIOJK in the last 2 years. He said that 62 forces’ personnel were killed and 106 others injured in 2020 while 42 were killed and 117 injured in 2021.—KMS
