Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir has said that the Indian troops are killing and arresting children in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and are using pellet guns on them.
Pasban Hurriyat’s media cell in a statement released on the occasion of International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression said that victimization of children by the Indian troops in the Kashmir valley proves that Indian soldiers are targeting innocent Kashmiri children under a well-thought-out plan. In Sopore, a three-year-old child’s grandfather was shot in front of him, after which the child sat on the martyred grandfather’s chest and tried to lift him up.
The authorities have detained thousands of minor Kashmiri children in jails under the black law Public Safety Act (PSA) and subjected them to torture. Later, they were released after taking huge sums of money from their parents.
Meanwhile, APHC-AJK chapter leader Mushtaq Ahmad Butt in a statement appealed to the United Nations and other international human rights organizations to take notice of the plight of the Kashmiri children.
He said children are facing a very serious and dangerous situation in the occupied territory, where children are being called to military camps and police stations and subjected to torture and put them in jails under black laws.—INP
