The authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have tightened the so-called security measures ahead of the annual Hindu pilgrimage Amarnath Yatra.

The 62-day-long annual pilgrimage is scheduled to start on July 01 and culminate on August 31.

The Indian government has already deployed over 60,000 additional paramilitary personnel across the occupied territory for the yatra. This deployment is in addition to tens of thousands of the troops al-ready deployed across the territory. Apart from that, sniper and sharp shooters will also be deployed at many locations while the yatra convoy will be escorted with Indian forces’ personnel laced with technical gadgets.

Meanwhile, the Indian Home Ministry undertook a security review of the Amarnath Yatra and directed the use of drones, dogs and aerial-survey teams during the pilgrimage.—KMS
