Senior leader of Indian National Congress in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Altaf Malik, has said that he doesn’t agree with the Modi government’s claims that the situation is better in the territory.
Altaf Malik, a senior Congress leader in Rafia-bad area of Baramulla district, in an interview said the BJP claims that everything is fine in occupied Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A, but the ground reality is different. He said, it is almost nine years now and the Modi government is unable to conduct assembly elections in the territory. Altaf Malik said the BJP is afraid of holding assembly polls in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and if elections can be held in different Indian states, why not in Kashmir. He said BJP cannot win elections in IIOJK, therefore, it is misleading the people. —KMS
